How much time do we need for the calendar each day?
That depends on which door you choose. The calendar includes four different time categories:
• 10 doors that take 5 to 15 minutes
• 4 doors that take 30 minutes
• 4 doors that take 2 hours
• 6 doors with interactive Christmas stories which take 10 minutes each
Our DIY Advent Calendar is all about having fun. You don’t need to open all the doors by December 24. If you don’t see each other every day, are short on time or something unexpected comes up, you can continue after Christmas. Simply go at your own pace.
On busy days, you can choose a door that only takes a few minutes or simply skip a day. On quieter days, you can intentionally set aside more time for each other.
Why isn’t the calendar numbered from 1 to 24?
Because December is not always a predictable month for most couples.
Some days are busy, and others are more relaxed. That’s why you can decide which door suits your day nest. On a short evening, choose a 10 minute door. On a free Sunday, you can enjoy a longer date or a DIY project.
This keeps the calendar flexible and takes away any extra pressure.
Do we have to see each other every day?
No, you don’t need to see each other every day, but of course you can.
The calendar is most enjoyable when you’re together in person. At the same time, it has been specifically designed to work for couples who don’t live together or can’t see each other every day in December.
You can complete 10 of the doors and the interactive Christmas story together over the phone or by video call. Eight doors are marked with stars. We recommend doing these together in person. Everything is explained again in detail in the instructions.
It’s important to us that the Advent Calendar is fun and doesn’t create any additional pressure. Especially if you don’t live together, you can take your time and continue after December 24. You don’t need to have opened every door or completed every task by then. Be flexible, choose the times that work for both of you and enjoy the Christmas season at your own pace.
How much time do I need to prepare the calendar?
You should allow around 3 hours for preparation.
This includes organizing the materials, printing, putting the calendar together, and personalizing it with your photos and your own details.
We’ve already taken care of the concept, design, planning, and instructions for you. Several hundred hours of work have gone into this project, so you can prepare your calendar in just a few hours.
Is the calendar digital or physical?
The calendar is a digital DIY product that you turn into a personal, physical Advent calendar yourself.
Immediately after purchase, you’ll receive:
• The complete contents of the DIY Advent Calendar as a ready-to-print PDF, created by a Swiss designer.
• 24 labelled envelopes to print and fold yourself. The different categories are already organized for you.
• Ready-to-use craft sheets with different houses and Christmas trees to print, so you can create your own Christmas village.
You receive much more than just a file. You receive a complete DIY package that makes it easy to prepare, personalize, and give your calendar as a meaningful gift.
A finished calendar will not be mailed.

When will I receive the DIY Advent Calendar?
You will receive the DIY Advent Calendar as a digital download immediately upon purchase. You can get started straight away by downloading the files, printing them, and preparing the calendar.
Do I need to fill the calendar with gifts?
No, you do not need to buy 24 gifts. The calendar is based on shared activities, conversations, small surprises and creative moments. The focus is not on consumption, but on spending quality time together.
Can I personalize the calendar?
Yes, that’s a key part of the concept! You can add your own photos, shared memories, little messages, and personal details to make it special.
Do I still need to assemble the calendar myself?
Yes, but most of it is already prepared for you. Simply print the PDF, cut it out, put it together, and personalize it with your photos. This creates a unique gift for your special someone.
Do I need a printer?
No. You can order the calendar through our print partner with worldwide delivery and have it sent to your home. Alternatively, you can print it at home or at the office. A print friendly version that uses less colour is included.
